saisons — Anna Luz Works

As part of the 1060CultureCultuur program from the municipality of Saint-Gilles, I developed a series of pieces created from plants pruned each season by municipal crews. Each work combines unexpected natural colors, such as the pink hues of winter conifers, the yellows of spring buddleias, the blues of summer indigo, and the grays of autumn hornbeams. The textiles from these pices were dyed by random Saint-Gilles inhabitants that participated in four seasonal workshops in the year of 2025. Taken together, these pieces invite us to contemplate the subtle interplay of the urban plants that surround us and the changes that result from the seasons.

Offestival 2026 emerges within a context in which artist-run spaces hold an essential yet fragile position in Brussels’ artistic ecosystem. These independent structures—simultaneously sites of production, dissemination, and experimentation—develop collective modes of organisation that partly diverge from current institutional frameworks. Led by Metarage and Becue, the project establishes a shared space for encounter and visibility. This edition marks the participation of SB34, joining the invited structures and enabling its resident artists to inhabit the Metarage space.
