https://annaluzworks.com/tazio Le jardin Tazieaux est une parcelle laissée libre par la démolition d’une maison dans la rue Tazieaux, en plein cœur de Molenbeek. Reprise initialement par l’association de quartier VDK, elle est laissée à l’abandon en 2024 faute de financement. En association avec le collectif dallas, nous nous proposons de reprendre le jardin en 2025, dans le cadre du contrat de rénovation urbaine CRU6, pour l’ouvrir à nouveau aux habitant.e.s. Cette initiative prend la forme d’une occupation de deux ans, qui vise à transformer la friche en espace de rencontres inter-culturelles, de culture de plantes comestibles et de loisirs pour les enfants du quartier. L’année est rythmée par des temps forts, où le jardin est en chantier participatif pour y construire les infrastructures : des buttes, une mare, une citerne, une boîte à outils, une nouvelle grille, une serre, un rocket stove… Le reste du temps, des permanences le lundi permettent aux habitant.e.s de venir profiter du jardin, de récolter des herbes et légumes, d’organiser un barbecue ou de discuter entre voisins. Mon rôle consiste à l’aménagement paysager du terrain et à l’enrichissement du sol, en prévision de la culture d’arbres fruitiers, d’annuelles et de vivaces. Lors de la première année, nous y avons installé des buttes de culture forestière à base de bois mort de la commune de Molenbeek, planté une partie jardin-forêt composé de fruitiers atypiques ou amenés par les habitant.e.s et installé une micro-pépinière. Nos chantiers de l’année 2026 gravitent autour de la construction d’une serre, d’un cabanon à outils, d’une mare et d’une cuisine extérieure. Myself and Clara Schmeinck envisioned a pilot project suitable for european cities and worked on a database of plants and growing principles that would work for the specific context of Cologne. After six years of a long negotiation with the city of Cologne, we finally got the authorization to develop our project of an edible forest grown by design students and kids from the neighborhood. With strong partnerships with urban agriculture associations of the neighborhood and with organizations such as the dietarian committee and the green spaces department, we kickstarted the project in November 2025. Our site, Alteburg is surrounded by two railroad tracks and a spontaneous forest culminating our plot. In winter, we planted green manures to loosen the very compact soil, traced paths and elaborated a design with Claire Mauquié, a food forest expert from France. In december, we planted dozens of trees and shrubs with kids from the primary school nearby, made hugels, keyholes and flags for signage. A group of design students are continuously working on the infrastructure, water management and soil quality of the garden in the frame of a mid-term project held by Prof. Heidkamp at the KISD (Köln +0000 Anna Luz Works https://annaluzworks.com/mobile-rocket-stove In continuation of my project The Station, awarded by the NEB prize 2024, I developed a mobile version of the rocket stove using lime cement made of clay, straw and lime. The mould for the rocket stove was developed with Jeanny Bouwen, a willow wicker artisan based in Flanders. We designed and made the rolling basket for the base of the rocket stove. Works https://annaluzworks.com/habitat-2 Aesthetics of a blocked screen Last summer, I was a habitant of Ca de Monti for the second year. This time, I collaborated on the scenography for QUA, their end of summer festival. .I found a nest again in the atelier designing tent covers and banners inspired by the traces of what makes this place so special. I love how each summer collaboration explores investing the space of the garden in a soft way, close to the ground last year, out of the sun this time. All printing inks were made with local ingredients : an iron pigment from the area, elderberries and henna donated by Sami, my partner in crime. I found a roll of fabric in the atelier, oak tannins in the forest, tubs of yogurt in the fridge and the same old screens I was printing with last year! Once again, we could count on wonderful help from the other residents to draw the stencils and help us print all night long - big thanks to Flora and Tommy, Laura, Niccolo, Marghe, Michele… and for there and reusing the extracted waste with the same care given to noble and precious materials. Perforating, coring and sawing are minimal, simple and spontaneous acts, fuelled by the impatience to see concrete spaces being nibbled away. Since 2024, dallas, Gilbard and Anna Luz Pueyo have been working together on the slab at 43B Rue de Liverpool to imagine new uses for it. In July 2025, the demineralisation project finally followed the planning and soil analysis stages, during a week open to the public under the Molenbeek sun. My role was to assist both collectives with the operation, with a special focus on planting and recreating a living ground that would host a new biodiversity. In planters dug into the ground, a combination of dye plants produces colours and links with the garden, without the risk of ingesting pollutants. The round planters each have their own colour: yellow with reseda, blue with woad and red with madder. A vegetable garden on top of the slab irrigated by the gutter of the neighbouring building offers free access to vegetables and herbs for local residents who participate in planting and maintenance. The object of study is both the excavated material and the hole, the positive and the negative. The soil, freed from concrete and asphalt, regains its ecological functions, allowing ecosystems to re-establish themselves and flourish. A bench has been carved out of the mineral slab, inviting people to enjoy it and gather around the harvest. Project carried out by the Dallas collective (Simon Lemutricy and Salomon Tyler), Gilbard (Aliocha Tazi and Colin Roustan) and myself, with the help of Zoé Brochard, Maud, Mahaut Guerin Ladouce and the children of the Cureghem/Heyvaert neighbourhood, between Molenbeek-Saint-Jean and Anderlecht, on the route of the future Senette park. Works https://annaluzworks.com/growing-roots Last summer, I worked with the Growing Roots forest school on the hill of Red Rock, in the forest where Elisa and her team are setting camp every summer. My Irish family has strong ties with this rock, and my father used to hike the cliff walk every week with his dad. Reconnecting with this space that I have myself walked through as a kid felt very special. For the summer camp, we welcomed a group of small kids from five to twelve years old. During four days, we met every morning and went on adventures to collect local plants such as fireweed, pine cones and ferns to make potions, paintings, weavings and prints. I have been dreaming of reconnecting to Irish woodlands and exploring the folklore behind its flora for a long time, and this is only the beginning of the journey. Luz Works https://annaluzworks.com/Pilli-Pallis This year again, TAAT was invited by Cotranspose to join the Greek Easter celebrations and take care of the warehouse field in the small village of Palli. We baptised the project Pilli Pallis, the Portal of Palli, as a connecting place where locals can go to explore relationships between humans and nature. The field is growing into a forest garden, for which an encounter portal is being created using natural and found materials in collaboration with insects, animals and plants. More and more, Pilli Pallis is a testing ground for interventions that help us understand the field and what we want to grow there. As we don’t hold all the answers, we invited knowledgeable locals from the village and the forestry school to help us identify plants and to hear about the history and climate of the bioregion. Inspired by local weaving traditions and last year’s plant explorations, I initiated building a giant loom and creating large-scale weaves from local hay, reed, and cotton. I see these works as “displaced vegetation,” left on the land to decompose, to seed, and to shelter. In spring 2024, the last picture I took before I left the village of Dikaia was a cotton truck. I felt that I would come back to it. Greece is a significant cotton producer within the EU, with a historical focus on cotton cultivation dating back to the late 19th century, and accounts for 80% of the EU's cotton area and production today. Hungry for weaving materials, we went to handpick cotton flowers with Teodoro’s on a pick-up truck, close to the Bulgarian frontier. With the helping hands of TAAT, cotranspose and passing visitors, I attempted to weave the raw flowers, leaving the seeds inside with the hypothesis that they might sprout with rain and time. This work is part of my research with TAAT on “displaced vegetation” as weaved architectural interventions. My work on dyes extended to cotton and wool, and to almond leaf ink to print posters announcing our first event on the field : weaving, music and tea! People came to test the loom, to play the amadinda and to drink camomille tea brewed in the sun. in collaboration with Martin Simpson, Efrosyni Tsiritaki, Λίγεια and Gert-Jan Stam. <img width="1272"
