<description>As part of the 1060CultureCultuur program from the municipality of Saint-Gilles, I developed a series of pieces created from plants pruned each season by municipal crews. Each work combines unexpected natural colors, such as the pink hues of winter conifers, the yellows of spring buddleias, the blues of summer indigo, and the grays of autumn hornbeams. The textiles from these pices were dyed by random Saint-Gilles inhabitants that participated in four seasonal workshops in the year of 2025. Taken together, these pieces invite us to contemplate the subtle interplay of the urban plants that surround us and the changes that result from the seasons.
Those pieces were exhibited at Metarage, in Saint Gilles as part of the Offestival. Price on demand.
Offestival 2026 emerges within a context in which artist-run spaces hold an essential yet fragile position in Brussels’ artistic ecosystem. These independent structures—simultaneously sites of production, dissemination, and experimentation—develop collective modes of organisation that partly diverge from current institutional frameworks. Led by Metarage and Becue, the project establishes a shared space for encounter and visibility. This edition marks the participation of SB34, joining the invited structures and enabling its resident artists to inhabit the Metarage space.

<description>Jardin Tazieaux is a plot of land left vacant by the demolition of a house on Tazieaux Street, in the heart of Molenbeek. Initially taken over by the neighborhood association VDK, it was abandoned in 2024 due to a lack of funding.

In partnership with the Dallas collective, we plan to take over the garden in 2025, as part of the CRU6 urban renewal contract, to reopen it to residents.
This initiative takes the form of a two-year occupation, aimed at transforming the vacant lot into a space for intercultural encounters, growing edible plants, and recreational activities for neighborhood children. The year is punctuated by key events, during which the garden becomes a participatory worksite for building infrastructure: raised beds, a pond, a cistern, a tool shed, a new fence, a greenhouse, a rocket stove… The rest of the time, open hours on Mondays allow residents to come and enjoy the garden, harvest herbs and vegetables, host a barbecue, or chat with neighbors.

My role involves landscaping the site and enriching the soil in preparation for planting fruit trees, annuals, and perennials. During the first year, we created forest-style planting mounds using dead wood from the municipality of Molenbeek, planted a forest garden section featuring unusual fruit trees or those brought in by residents, and set up a micro-nursery. Our projects for 2026 center on building a greenhouse, a tool shed, a pond, and an outdoor kitchen.

I’m also using this plot to develop a permanent prototype of my rocket stove, as a continuation of my research on “La Station,” which won the NEB 2024 award.

<description>The project of growing an urban forest garden in Cologne started in 2019, after a research trip to Taiwan where I discovered this system. Myself and Clara Schmeinck envisioned a pilot project suitable for european cities and worked on a database of plants and growing principles that would work for the specific context of Cologne.

After six years of a long negotiation with the city of Cologne, we finally got the authorization to develop our project of an edible forest grown by design students and kids from the neighborhood. With strong partnerships with urban agriculture associations of the neighborhood and with organizations such as the dietarian committee and the green spaces department, we kickstarted the project in November 2025.

Our site, Alteburg is surrounded by two railroad tracks and a spontaneous forest culminating our plot. In winter, we planted green manures to loosen the very compact soil, traced paths and elaborated a design with Claire Mauquié, a food forest expert from France. In december, we planted dozens of trees and shrubs with kids from the primary school nearby, made hugels, keyholes and flags for signage. A group of design students are continuously working on the infrastructure, water management and soil quality of the garden in the frame of a mid-term project held by Prof. Heidkamp at the KISD (Köln International School of Design).

<description>In continuation of my project The Station, awarded by the NEB prize 2024, I developed a mobile version of the rocket stove using lime cement made of clay, straw and lime.

The mould for the rocket stove was developed with Jeanny Bouwen, a willow wicker artisan based in Flanders. We designed and made the rolling basket for the base of the rocket stove.

We used it at casse-dalle to make mint tea and transform our yearly harvest of green tomatoes.
